Maria is an Architect and Urban Economist from Buenos Aires, Argentina, specializing in innovation and driven by a passion for exploring contradictions and emerging forces shaping cities and urban life.
In the past 12 years, she has successfully led a wide-range of initiatives, from large-scale to detailed designs. She managed metropolitan transportation projects, multimillion-dollar real estate operations budgets, and the design development of high-end industrialized interior products and spaces. She has built strong partnerships with world-class architecture and design studios, global producers, and supply chain partners.
In 2018, Maria founded Elevator, a real estate tech venture lab, and became an emerging voice in the Proptech industry. In 2021, she relocated to Vancouver, Canada, expanding her perspectives on the symbiosis between urban and natural environments. Since then, she has been a trusted consultant, intrapreneur, and fractional leader in innovation, product, and operations for fast-growing startups and forward-thinking real estate firms throughout North America.
Maria is a pioneer in applying agile, empathy-led design and modern operating models in Real Estate, Architecture and Design businesses. Her current area of research is transitioning from traditional construction to productization and manufacturing systems and its potential to radically improve how we produce housing, retail, workspace, and hospitality projects.
Maria is committed to advancing the real estate tech ecosystem. She formed and co-chairs the Vancouver Chapter of Proptech Collective and often shares her insights at conferences. She strongly advocates for female founders and leaders and has mentored dozens of high-potential startups and diverse entrepreneurs at the Founders Institute, Reach Canada, and Product BC.
